Asterix 7-27-83 (NTSC Version)

This rare prototype of Asterix is in NTSC format.  Why you ask?  Asterix was originally developed in NTSC format (since Taz was NTSC), and was then converted to PAL.  Other than being in NTSC format, this version pretty much the same as the PAL release except for a few colors that were changed around.  Notice how the labels say Asterix Obelix instead of just Asterix?  This is probably because Obelix makes an appearance in the game (although he is not the star).

Differences vs PAL Version

The text and graphics on the title screen are green instead of dark blue
The Woita Wave easter egg is missing
The score is yellow instead of orange
The points text is white instead of gray and the triangles above the text are different colors than in the PAL version
Most of the object graphics have different colors.  For example, the cauldrons are lighter brown while the lyres are darker in color.  The helmets a pinkish color instead of peach, and the are lamps are gold and brown instead of green and brown.
The gameplay screen is larger than in the PAL version.  The number of lanes is the same, but they're wider and the colored triangles at the top and bottom of the playfield are taller which pads out the difference.

It's still Taz no matter how you slice it...

Pink helmets?

How many wishes do I get?
