Dragonstomper ?-??-82

This is a later prototype for Dragonstomper.  The game is still called Excalibur at this point, but the first load (The Enchanted Countryside) is very close to the final version.  The only major differences are that the Papers needed to gt by the bridge guard are called a Scroll and that your character is invincible.  You can still lose strength through using bad items, but enemies will not damage you.  You can bribe/defeat/give the scroll to the bridge guard and he'll let you by, but the game resets after this.  It is unknown if the game is trying to load the second level (Oppressed Village) and simply reloads the first level when that load cannot be found or if the second load did not exist yet.  There is no date or version number on this prototype making it hard to figure out exactly where in the chronology it fits.

Prototype Differences
The game is still called Excalibur
The text in the display box is briefly corrupted upon boot
There is no box around the input window
The blue bar at the bottom of the screen is missing
The green of the background extends all the way to the bottom of the screen
The HMOV bars on the left side of the screen now extend top to bottom in order to hide them
You start with 0 gold instead of 200
You don't take damage from monsters, but you can still lose strength through items
Crossing the bridge resets the game (possible missing second load)
The Maniac is called a Smiler
The Paper (ID) is called a Scroll
Monsters always approach from the right
Using an item displays 'Using <item>' instead of 'Use <item>'
The 'Feels Weird' text when using a stat item is missing
The Guard always drops a shield when defeated
The donation amounts for the church are 250 or 15 gold rather than 200 or 15.
When touching objects the text says 'A <object>' instead of just '<object>'

The corrupted text fixes itself quickly

Onward to the non-existent second load!

Maniacs are still Smilers

The higher donation is 250 instead of 200
