Blaster ?-?-83

This is the only Blaster prototype known to exist.  Notice the odd EPROM board that was used?  It is reminiscent of Colecovision style prototype boards.  This prototype was complete and ready to be released when Atari decided to stop all support for the 5200.

If you look very closely at the EPROM labels you'll see they have the number '2084' on them.  This is because they are really recycled Robotron: 2084 EPROMs that were left over from when Vid Kidz were working on the Robotron arcade game.

The name was so important they listed it twice

3-D wire frame graphics on the 5200?!?!

That is one UGLY humanoid

Enemy mine ships at one o'clock!

Hell Rider!

It's Asteroids... with people!

I think I'm in trouble...

Boom!  Take that!
